It was only a matter of time before the principles of this world clashed with the Spirit of God present over Singapore. If you had kept abreast with the recent parliamentary debates, you would know what I’m talking about. It’s over the issue of legalizing homosexuality in Singapore.

First, we all need to praise and thank God that the clause wasn’t dropped despite heavy pressures to remove the criminalizing of homosexuals in Singapore. Hallelujah! I’m sure that there must be hundreds of Christians who had prayed against the dropping of this law and thank God, His servants have managed to hold off this onslaught….. for now.

There is no doubt that homosexuality is not God’s intention or plan for any of his created people.

“Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor HOMOSEXUAL offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.”
- 1 Cor 6:9,10

God has placed the homosexuals along with the idolaters, adulterers and swindlers. Woe is him who thinks that being a homosexual is not by choice and thus allow himself/herself to fall deeper into sin. I confess that I do not understand the struggles that these people face, but I do know with certainty that God is not pleased with homosexuals and has not made them to be like that. The good news is, God has ALWAYS provided a way out for us in whatever temptations that we may face. He is ready to rescue whoever is stuck in this mire once they call out to Him. Praise God for being such a merciful and loving Father!

Back to Singapore, I see that this battle against the forces of the enemy is just beginning over the environment in Singapore. This successful effort to keep the law against homosexuals is merely temporary and the enemy will be back very soon to attempt to break through the spiritual domain in Singapore. When that happens, Singapore will be on the same path as America once was, a gradual social and moral degradation and journey of no return.

Thus, I want to encourage all Christians to start praying hard for our government and our leaders and our nation. Don’t ever take any of these for granted as the evil one is very swift in attacking and overpowering when God’s people are lazy and indifferent. The stories of the bible should teach us that very well. If we want the Spirit of God to continue reigning over this country and in its laws, we as His people need to take up our weapons of warfare and to start interceding for our beloved country and our generations to come. It is our responsibility to stand in the gap and I pray that we will all be found diligent in answering this call, for our own sakes.

This is just the beginning of the war that Satan is bringing more obviously to the frontlines. Slowly, the spirit of this world will be knocking harder and harder on the doors of this nation that are held shut by the spirit of God and the prayers of His people. Let’s keep this door shut for as long as God allows by fulfilling God’s call to us to stand in the gap.
