tks for the great & personal sharing. It has encouraged me that God's plans are always good despite what you see with our limited vision

It takes time to see things, situations - the way the Father sees. Through these situations do we learn much about our very own selves thus being a blessing to many others whom we do not know when, their lives will turn around. He calls all who will want to go the distance, to be a blessing. As it is the Father who draws all men unto Himself, details are unknown to us, it is then that we look into the mirror and daily chipping away the things that are of this world and putting on the things of the heavenly, right here on earh.

My dad became termianlly ill in November '94 with only 3 months to go. I had the opportunity to spend some time with him. He was filled with a humble heart. He was not afraid of death. His fear was that my mum would put him in a home! From that subject we were able to get him ready. With what we shared, we prayed with and loved him and at every person who visited him, he would ask forgiveness if he had said anything to offend the person. In and out of hospital from Nov to Dec '94, he experienced alot. He asked to listen to praise songs which I did. On January 7, my husband & I were in prayer and suddenly, I knew that my father had a week left. At that time, desperate, I spoke to the pastor and he told me to listen to what Father had to say and do what He told me to - I did and within the week, my dad gave his life and passed away in hospital, the evening of Friday of Jan 14 (2 months from the time he was diagnosed) - slipped away ater 3 hours of being unconscious. I was working at the time and at the time when he passed on, I had a sinking feeling and I knew that he had gone to be with the Lord. On the first day of the wake, my daughter was grieving and fell asleep in the afternoon. A few mins later, she came out and told me that she had dreamed of him, dressed in white and beaming, and that he was sitting down next to her and asking her why she was sad and crying. When she told him that it was because he had gone, his answer was for her not to cry and be happy for he was happy. He told my daughter to tell us that message. From that day, she was not sad anymore - she was 16 at the time. So for his funeral day, we all wore white shirts/dress and normal coat/tie and we all were dressed our best. We were sad of his demise but we knew that he was happy.

My grandfather (94 at the time) was also sad after my dad passed on. I took him to the hospital the next day after the funeral and he stayed for a few days and while there, Father opened a way for him to hear of the gospel. He knew it very well, yet he recited the sinner's prayer and gave his life to Christ. When I went the next day, he was discharged. He was well, alert and active potting around the garden. On the Saturday of that week, I had gone for prayer and this time, my husband hurried me back to see my grand dad. I did not know that he had passed on, while we were in prayer. Grand dad had passed on lying in bed. He was dressing himself. Hanging by the cupboard was his white shirt, handkerchief in the coat pocket and coat, his socks & shoes neatly at the bottom. He was buried in those clothes. Grand dad had passed on 17 days after my dad's funeral.

My own personal lesson - it is the Father who calls us unto Himself through His son, Yeshua (Jesus). In His own time, he finishes the work that He has started. We by His side as walking humbly, never ahead Him. From this bible passages are proven in my own life.

By the way, one of my dad's brothers had pulled me aside, the day before he passed on and "advised us to put my dad in a home, where he will be cared for and die in dignity" - the Lord had taken care of everything. These 2 experiences are forever a testimony in our family.
