Today, the Lord spoke to me very clearly through a song. It’s been awhile since He spoke so clearly in my heart and I’m overwhelmed with thankfulness and joy.

I’m lost without You

The Lord asked me a question that I’ve not commonly asked myself, “How lost are you WITHOUT Me?”

I think, if I honestly searched my heart, I can say, not very lost actually. I would probably be able to figure something out and take the path that seems most logical and right. With all my education and experience, I must confess that many times, I’m actually not very lost without Him.

But God wants us to be lost without Him! No, He is not a depraved God, seeking pleasure in seeing His children wonder around, stumbling and falling. Of course not. But He wants us to recognize that we are indeed very very lost without Him! Whether you like or not, without Him, you ARE lost. The Israelites may have refused to admit it, but they were so lost that they could probably not find the Promised Land if it screamed out to them. Thus, they were walking around for 40 years in the desert, what could have taken a few weeks. They were lost, but they just didn’t know it.

God wants us, desires and yearns that we SEE our ‘lost-ness’ without Him. Only when we begin to see that we are wondering around in circles without Him, then will we learn how to turn towards the light and walk in His way. Only when we come to the end of the rope, and there is nothing else left to grab, but God, that is when we see how desperately we need Him.

So, allow me to ask you the same question, “How lost are you without God?” Will life go on as normal, as though nothing has changed and you will be able to walk without missing a beat. Or will you immediately feel that you’ve lost your guiding light and nothing feels right? Perhaps, many of us would fall into the former category. Guess there is no better time than now, to ask God to guide your steps and to give you a sense of conviction when you start straying from His plans. When we can honestly say, that without God, we’ll be so lost that we cannot do a single thing, that is when we learn to yield completely to Him and let Him guide our paths.
