The Choice
I watched as a young mother tried to get her 2-year-old child to make a choice. "You can have fish or chicken," she told him. She limited his choice to just two because he was too young to understand beyond that. Choice often allows a wider variety of options, and it also . . .

The Biblical Graduate School of Theology is organising their inaugural conference 2009. Pastoral care is demanding. While you strengthen others, who helps you with your weaknesses? While others look up to you, who is watching out for you? As you seek to be faithful to the call to grow others spiritually, who are you accountable to in your own spiritual formation? As you protect your flock, who guards and warns you about spiritual dangers and pitfalls like fatigue and pride? What are the consequences when pastors and pastoral care-givers neglect their own soul care? These are the issues that we will explore in the first installment of our inaugural Annual Conference.

The Prayer that Jesus taught is the “mother of all prayers.” It has deep and profound things to say about what we believe, how we worship, and how we relate to God. More than that, it unites us with Jesus who is now interceding for us. In this course, you will be introduced briefly to the history of the Lord’s Prayer and some of the issues in interpreting it.
A large part of the course will examine the meaning of the different phrases of the Prayer, by trying to answer the question: What did Jesus have in mind when He taught the Prayer? We will use the Bible to explore the depths of the Prayer, and discover the implications for living out the Prayer in our daily lives. Come and let the Prayer of Jesus transform you.
